I WAS HUNGRY

I Was Hungry is a transformative initiative that combines biblical stewardship with practical farming skills to combat hunger and poverty. The “I Was Hungry” program is a partnership between Crown Financial Ministries and Foundations for Farming, combining practical tools for farming, family, and finances with a strong foundation in biblical faith.

Inspired by the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:35, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat”, the program brings lasting transformation to individuals, families, and communities….one village at a time.

We train people in four key areas:

This combination helps people not just survive—but thrive.

Why It Works

​

Unlike short-term aid or handouts, “I Was Hungry” offers long-term solutions. Our two-week training equips people with life changing skills…but it does not end there. A Crown employee “shepherds” the village for two years, mentoring, encouraging, and answering questions along the way. Then three village “Lead Farmers” are chosen to carry the program onward…even to the next village!
